Talent Pathway at Onehunga Sports FC

The Talent Pathway is designed for players aged 5–17, helping them progress through the Junior and Youth stages of football. The focus is on preparing players for competitive youth football while also creating opportunities to grow into senior men’s and women’s teams at Onehunga Sports FC.

Our Director of Football, Keegan Hansen, leads the Talent Pathway. The aim is to build an environment where players develop confidence, creativity, and a strong understanding of the game. As players move from Junior to Youth football, the programme encourages them to combine their individual skills with teamwork, learning how to apply their abilities effectively within a team structure.

Youth players representing the club at the highest level will compete in NRFL Youth Leagues, while our Junior players will continue to develop their skills in NRF competitions.

Our Age Specific Programmes:

Onehunga Sports FC delivers structured, age-appropriate programmes to support players at every stage of their football journey:

  • Mountain Football (U8 – U9) – A step up from First Kicks, giving players the chance to learn the game in a supportive and team-based environment.

  • Player Development Programme (U10 – U13) – A curriculum designed to grow technical skills, decision-making, and game understanding as players prepare for competitive football.

  • Youth Development Programme (U14 – U17) – Preparing players for the demands of youth competitions, developing tactical awareness, physical preparation, and pathways into senior football.
